Newcastle confirmed to be 'elite club' after signing £40m per season deal

Newcastle confirmed to be ‘elite club’ after signing £40m per season deal.

This season saw Adidas take over as Newcastle United’s main kit suppliers after the club terminated their £6 million-a-year deal with Castore.

The deal with Adidas saw a huge improvement to the revenue for the club with the five-year deal bringing in £40 million-a-year.

Newcastle fans have welcomed the change with open arms as the three kits produced by the German sportswear giants flew off the shelves and other Adidas-manufactured Newcastle gear continues to roll out and impress, with a retro-inspired training range catching the eye recently.

Heading into the launch of the new kits, Footy Headlines had suggested that Newcastle would be part of the Adidas elite stable of clubs which would have seen their third kit adorned with the old-school Adidas trefoil logo, but when the kit designs were leaked, the third kid, with its retro NUFC badge, sported the more modern three stripe logo.

Newcastle will be ‘elite’ Adidas partners from 2025/26
Now though, Footy Headlines has once again reported that Newcastle will receive ‘Elite’ status with Adidas starting next season.

We’re not sure what happened to being adorned with elite status for this season, but we are happy to see that it’s happening eventually with AS Roma also joining the roster from next season.

There are other benefits that come with being an ‘elite’ club other than a retro logo with Arsenal receiving bespoke women’s kits this season while Real Madrid and Manchester United were able to offer long-sleeve variants of their kits.

Ideally Newcastle will have Champions League football next season to go along with their elite status to make it look justified to those who don’t understand how huge Newcastle is as a club.

We’ve loved pretty much everything Adidas and Newcastle have churned out this season and we can’t wait to see how the partnership develops in the future.

They’ve got a lot of work on their hands to match the kit output from this season with each kit an absolute winner.
