Hungry Stoke City squad knuckling down to take on demands from new boss
Narcis Pelach says his Stoke City players have been open minded and ready to work hard to take on his new ideas
Stoke City players have got a positive early report card from head coach Narcis Pelach as they show a hunger to take on his new methods.
The new boss admits he has overloaded the squad with information during his first three weeks in charge, letting the team know what they have done well and where they can improve at half-time, full-time and with “meetings upon meetings” as well as on the training pitches in the week at Clayton Wood.
But he has been impressed with their hunger to soak everything up and with how they have started to carry it out, with work to do to make sure they capitalise on foundations being laid – and make more chances and score more goals.
“They listen, they want to do things and that’s the most important thing because if the players are not open-minded to do things it is difficult,” said Pelach. “Tactically we were fine (against Swansea) but when we regained the ball the key was to play forward because they were expansive and we could have had more success in the game.
