Wolves summer transfer target just showed Gary O’Neil what he’s missing with four-goal display
Wolves might regret not signing one reported target of Gary O’Neil’s during the summer transfer window.
The summer window was certainly a two-sided tale at Molineux ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
While the Old Gold recruited several upcoming star talents, O’Neil and Matt Hobbs were unable to secure the central defensive signing that was so desperately needed.
As a result, Wolves are incredibly short in the position this season, representing one mistake that was made during the transfer window.
Wolves showed interest in Samuel Omorodion
As expected, the Old Gold were linked with a mass of talent over the span of the summer transfer window, with only eight actually being signed by Hobbs and O’Neil.
One of those rumoured to be eyed at Molineux was Samuel Omorodion, known as Samu, who eventually signed for FC Porto in August.
The Portuguese club sealed the striker’s signature for just €15m (£12.7m), a price that would have been considered affordable at Wolves.
