Hull City surprise exit ahead of Sunderland showdown
Hull City face Sunderland this weekend in the Championship and vice-chairman Tan Kesler will not be in attendance after it was confirmed he has left the club
Hull City have announced the departure of vice-chairman Tan Kesler ahead of their Championship clash with Sunderland at the MKM Stadium on Sunday. Kesler, who played a pivotal role as Acun Ilicali’s right-hand man during the Turkish businessman’s takeover in 2022, was initially expected to take up the role of director of football but instead became vice-chairman.
He has been instrumental in the club’s transfer dealings and daily operations since the takeover and even secured a position on the EFL board earlier this year. However, he will now exit the club immediately by mutual consent, as per the club’s statement released on Thursday morning.
“Hull City can confirm that we have parted ways with executive vice-chairman Tan Kesler by mutual consent,” read the club’s announcement. “We wish Tan the best for the future and will provide supporters with a further update in due course.
