Sheffield Wednesday ace reveals Owls’ edge in transfer market, it worked for him this summer.
James Beadle has given his verdict on what makes Sheffield Wednesday an attractive place in the transfer market right now.
Sheffield Wednesday re-signed James Beadle on loan during the summer, after the England U21 man’s impressive stint on loan from Brighton in the second half of last season.
After a shaky start to the season, with Beadle criticised after the game against Leeds United in particular, the 20-year-old has been back to his best in recent weeks.
He’s held in very high regards by Brighton and on the international scene too, with Beadle training with the England seniors during the September international break.
Ahead of Sheffield Wednesday’s return to Championship action against Burnley this weekend, Beadle has spoken about the club’s transfers.
Danny Rohl welcomed nine new players to Hillsborough during the summer with Beadle being one of them.

Many of the players who Sheffield Wednesday signed in the summer later cited Rohl as a huge factor behind their decision to join.
And Beadle has now done the same. Speaking to The Star, he highlighted Rohl and the size of Wednesday as a club as two factors to why the club can attract some top players.
Beadle and Southampton loan man Shea Charles are two great examples of the trust that clubs are starting to show in Sheffield Wednesday in the transfer market.
Beadle said: “The big things are the manager and the size of the club. The manager is obviously a really good tactician, but he also develops players and helps players with their game, especially outfield players.
“He gives them such specific instructions and helps with things like body position, really little technical things that help with all different sides of the game.”
Will James Beadle be playing in the Premier League next season?
There’s certainly a sense that Beadle won’t be at Sheffield Wednesday beyond this season, with Pierce Charles looking poised to get his chance next time round.
Beadle will return to Brighton where they’ll assess his next step, as they did this summer, and there’s surely a chance that he’s kept around for the 2025/26 season.
Brighton’s current no.1 is 22-year-old Dutch international Bart Verbruggen who’ll be hard to displace, though no.2 Jason Steele could be forced to make way for Beadle.
Being a Premier League no.2 seems like the next best step for Beadle. Or if Brighton feel otherwise, he could go to a top-end Championship club next season.
For the time being, he’s a Sheffield Wednesday player, and he’ll be solely focussed on gaining experience this season.
