EFL deliver Tan Kesler verdict after vice-chairman’s sudden Hull City exit.
The vice-chairman has left his role at the MKM Stadium after almost three years with the East Yorkshire role.
Tan Kesler is no longer a member of the EFL board after his departure from Hull City on Thursday morning, the governing body have confirmed.
The 45-year-old had been City ‘s vice chairman since Acun Ilicali’s takeover in January 2022 and was appointed to the prestigious role in June as a Championship representative, replacing former Millwall chief executive Steve Kavanagh, who left in May.
Kesler joined Preston North End director, Peter Ridsdale and Middlesbrough’s chief executive, Neil Bausor, with the trio all agreeing to a three-year term, but after his exit from the MKM Stadium was confirmed on Thursday morning, his role at the EFL has now been vacated and a replacement will be made in due course.
“Following his departure from Hull City, Tan Kesler will also vacate his position on the EFL Board of Directors in accordance with the League’s Articles of Association. Championship Clubs will appoint a successor in due course,” the EFL told Hull Live in a statement.
His departure from the MKM Stadium was confirmed ahead of City’s return to action on Sunday with the visit of current league leaders Sunderland.
“Hull City can confirm that we have parted ways with executive vice-chairman Tan Kesler by mutual consent,” the club wrote in a statement. “We wish Tan the best for the future and will provide supporters with a further update in due course.”
