Hull City midfielder Steven Alzate is expected to be out for three weeks with a calf injury, as detailed in a report by HullLive.
Hull City will be without their recent recruit for their upcoming fixtures against the likes of Burnley, Derby County and Portsmouth. He made the move to East Yorkshire in early September to bolster their options in the middle of the park.
Hull City injury
Alzate’s setback isn’t ideal for Hull City but at least it isn’t a long-term issue.
He didn’t have a proper pre-season so he is still slightly behind his teammates.
The former Colombia international, who hasn’t played for them since 2022, rose up through the academy ranks at Leyton Orient.
Alzate was snapped up by Brighton in 2017 and featured on 51 occasions for the Seagulls.
He was loaned out from the AMEX Stadium to Swindon Town and Standard Liege to get some experience under his belt.
The latter came calling for him twice and he made a combined 49 appearances for the Belgian outfit, finding the net on four occasions.
What now?
Alzate is unavailable for Hull City for the time being but should be back available in November.
The Tigers were beaten 1-0 at home by Sunderland this past weekend.
They are back in action on Wednesday night with a home clash against Burnley as they look to return to winning ways.
Hull City have won only three home games in 2024 and are finding it tough to get results on their own patch.
