Dominic Solanke already says £25m Tottenham teammate is simply ‘phenomenal’.
Whilst Dominic Solanke didn’t get the goal he craved for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, the striker was still instrumental in an excellent win over West Ham United.
Solanke played an important role in the build up to Dejan Kulusevski’s goal and was industrious for Tottenham throughout.
More than anything, Solanke just seems so determined to succeed under Ange Postecoglou, a striker who should only be reviewed glowingly after his first nine games.
There was a lot of talk of Solanke’s ‘barren run’ or ‘goal drought’ just a few weeks ago, but in all honesty those comments are about two or three months too soon.
The England international is settling well, and Ange Postecoglou will no doubt be very happy with his new signing.

That being said, when speaking in an interview with The Independent, Solanke expressed how impressed he’d been with one of his new Spurs teammates so far this season.
By a lot of estimations, Kulusevski has been Tottenham’s best player this campaign – the Swede is thriving in a central role.

The midfielder has everything in his game: pace, power and creativity, and judging by Solanke’s words, he’s incredibly happy to be playing alongside the winger.
Speaking in the interview, Solanke said that the £25m winger has been ‘phenomenal’, someone who is setting the bar right now.
Solanke said: “He is a great player. This season he has been phenomenal for us and we need players to be on top form, especially in the Premier League because we want to do as well as we can.”
James Maddison is becoming far less crucial for Spurs
Of course, whilst players like Kulusevski are enjoying a big rise in reputation right now, James Maddison is enduring a tougher period of his career.
Maddison has still been contributing effectively for Spurs, but is not currently the crucial number 10 that he was this time last year.
Postecoglou instantly knew he wanted to sub Maddison at half-time when Spurs weren’t quite at their best against West Ham.
And his decision was justified almost immediately, begging the question – are Spurs better without Maddison in the eleven right now?
Most in N17 would probably still reject that statement, but it’s certainly one for Postecoglou to ponder moving forward.
