Hull City striker Chris Bedia has said he is ‘very happy’ with his decision to join the Championship side.

Hull City swooped to land the attacker on loan from Union Berlin and have an option to buy him permanently next summer.

Bedia, 28, has scored two goals against Cardiff City and QPR in eight appearances for his new team.

He has had this to say about his switch to the MKM Stadium, as per a report by HullLive:“Because my manager ( Tim Walter) knew the coach (Bo Svensson at Union Berlin) and though I had different options, sometimes you speak with someone and you have the feeling and you say it’s better that you go there and it was my decision to come here. I’m very happy to take this good decision.

“Yes (always wanted to play in England). Before I moved to Union Berlin in January and before that, I really wanted to come to England. I’m not a person who will force something, so if it’s good for me, I come. If it’s not, I don’t come.”

He added:“It’s exactly what I was thinking: duels, tackles everywhere, kicks everywhere, runs everywhere, it’s very difficult. I feel like sometimes, in the game, when we keep the ball, it’s only when we keep the ball, we breathe a little bit. It’s like what I was thinking: it’s difficult.”

Hull City brought in Bedia to bolster their attacking department. He currently battles it out with Mason Burstow and Joao Pedro for a place in the team and has been a regular starter over recent weeks.

Union Berlin snapped him up last January and he scored once in seven matches for the Bundesliga outfit during the second-half of the last campaign. His contract in Germany expires in 2027.

The forward also had loan spells away at Zulte Waregem, Troyes and Sochaux to get some experience.

Bedia linked up with Servette in 2022 and was prolific for them, finding the net on 31 occasions in 86 outings.

He scored 16 goals in 29 matches in the first-half of last term to earn a transfer to the German top flight this past winter when Union Berlin came calling.

What now?
Hull City were beaten 1-0 at home by Sunderland last time out and Bedia hit the crossbar.
