Indiana Pacers Thankful For Ranking Last in Offseason Category
After a successful season last year, the Indiana Pacers are running it back. They made a shocking run all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals, and are keeping largely the same roster that got them there heading into the 2024-25 NBA season. Indiana’s only loss this offseason was Jalen Smith, who signed with the Chicago Bulls, but the Pacers added James Wiseman to bolster their frontcourt.
Only the Cleveland Cavaliers and Houston Rockets had quieter offseasons than Indiana, although Houston extended both Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green. During training camp this season, the Pacers built chemistry on and off the court. Last year, Indiana added Obi Toppin, Bruce Brown Jr., and Pascal Siakam, and the team had to adjust quickly to change their lineups accordingly.
Now, with an entire summer of preparation under their belt, the Pacers expect to take a leap, even with the same cast of characters on the team. “Just having a year of experience, a year of growing alongside each other, getting to know each other better, defensive principles, offensive principles,” outlined Tyrese Haliburton. “I think those are all important. But I think just our relationships have all grown a lot closer to be prepared for this year. I think we’ve had the least amount of roster turnover in the NBA. So, you know, we’ll be ready to go for Game 1.”
