Ki-Jana Hoever makes admission about his Wolves future after recent loan to Auxerre.

It hasn’t really happened yet for Ki-Jana Hoever in a Wolves shirt, and the Dutchman has been speaking about his future at the club while out on loan with Auxerre.

Hoever joined Wolves in the summer of 2020 in the same window as Nelson Semedo.

He completed his move for around £13.5 million all-in, with Diogo Jota sealing a £45 million move to Liverpool in a separate deal.

To date, Hoever has made just 25 appearances for the club, and is now over in France with newly promoted Auxerre for another loan move. He has previously been with PSV Eindhoven and Stoke City.

Hoever has rather been defined by when Bruno Lage publicly blasted him after he went off injured in a game against Crystal Palace.

Unfortunately for him, he hasn’t been able to really bounce back from that yet at Molineux. But the player is still seemingly open to becoming a success at Wolves.

Hoever says he ‘just doesn’t know’ what will happen with him at Wolves

Hoever has sat down with Give Me Sport to conduct an interview, and he has touched on his future at Wolves.

The star extended his contract at Wolves before his latest loan move, meaning he will have one year left on his contract at Molineux next summer. So talks will certainly be taking place about the next steps for him.

MORE WOLVES STORIES
For now, though, Hoever admits he doesn’t know what’s in store, and that he’s not in contact with his parent club while at Auxerre. But he does feel he can still play in the Premier League.

He said: “I will do the best I can during my time here, and I still believe I can play in the Premier League. But in terms of Wolves, and my future there, I just don’t know.

“It’s not only what I think and want. It’s also what the club decides. I am just focused on Auxerre at the moment and after this season we can reevaluate and see what the future holds.”

Hoever can still make it at Wolves
It perhaps seems a tad unlikely at the moment, but Hoever can still make a success of his move to Wolves.

It hasn’t worked out for him so far for several reasons. The form of Semedo has meant he just hasn’t been able to get a proper look-in.

He had an unsuccessful loan spell with PSV, but then impressed at Stoke in the Championship.

If he is going to make himself a first-team option next season, then Hoever needs a big campaign with Auxerre. And officials are Wolves would surely love to see that from him.

Semedo is out of contract next summer and it would be ideal if Wolves had someone who was ready to come in.

Hoever talks of his desire to play in the Premier League, so he is clearly going to try and have the best season he possibly can. But of course, it remains to be seen if Wolves will actually retain their Premier League status this season.
