Stoke City late summer signing ‘like Andrea Pirlo’
Deadline day signing Tatsuki Seko comes with a high recommendation from Japan
Stoke City new boy Tatsuki Seko can reportedly control games in the style of Andrea Pirlo.
Seko has joined Stoke on a three-year deal from Kawasaki Frontale, where his progress over the last couple of seasons has been watched closely by Japanese football reporter Shunsuke Ide.
e joins a midfield department which has been revamped in the last couple of weeks of the summer transfer window, with the departures of Lewis Baker, Josh Laurent and Daniel Johnson and arrivals of Andrew Moran and Bosun Lawal as well as the emergence of Sol Sidibe.

Ide said: “As soon as he joined he quickly became one of the starting eleven and he controlled the game as the central midfielder.
“He reminds me of Andrea Pirlo, he controls the ball excellently and brings the ball to the front and he’s also an excellent passer who can build up the game from the back. He can be a dangerous player around the final third as he has quite good middle-range shots.”
Seko is expected to play as a number six or eight in Steven Schumacher’s 4-3-3 system.
