Tim Walter sends message to Hull City support after Portsmouth draw as winless run goes on
Hull City were booed off after failing to beat the bottom club
Tim Walter has called on the club to stick together after he watched his Hull City side booed off following their 1-1 draw with bottom side Portsmouth.
Large swathes of the MKM Stadium were booing and jeering Walter’s side in the second half after seeing their early advantage given to them by Joao Pedro cancelled out just a minute into the second period. Those calls were even louder at full-time with supporters venting their understandable fury after seeing their side fall apart in the second period, and forced to hang on for a point.
Xavier Simons should have made it 2-0 after Pedro’s 11th-minute strike, but Josh Murphy’s scrappy strike saw the fans turn. In truth, they were fortunate to escape with just a point as their woeful MKM Stadium form continued, with fans on social media calling for owner Acun Ilicali to remove the German from his post, such is the growing level of angst.
Walter, speaking to Hull Live in his post-match press conference, cut a calm figure, as he called on the fans and his players to be united, as their winless run was extended to five games.
