Stoke City planning permanent offer for loan ace in January
Stoke City are planning to make an offer to keep hold of Leicester City loanee Tom Cannon in January, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Patreon.
Stoke City swooped to land the attacker on a temporary basis in the last transfer window. He has since scored six goals in 11 games in all competitions for the Championship, four of which came in a single game against Portsmouth.
Cannon, 21, was given the green light to head out the exit door on loan by Leicester City this past summer to get some game time under his belt. He was part of their side who won the second tier title last season under the guidance of their former boss Enzo Maresca.
In this latest update regarding his situation by reporter Nixon on Patreon, the Potters are keen to retain his services permanently this winter. There is always the possibility that the Foxes could recall him and Narcis Pelach’s side want to avoid that happening following his impressive start to life in Staffordshire.
Stoke City eye deal
Landing Cannon on a long-term basis would be a shrewd bit of business by Stoke City.
However, it remains to be seen whether Leicester City are prepared to let him leave full-time.
