‘Something up his sleeve’ – Sheffield Wednesday vs Norwich City prediction
The72’s writers offer their Sheffield Wednesday vs Norwich City prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Tuesday.
Sheffield Wednesday host Norwich City in midweek as both sides look to get back to winning ways in the Championship.
Sheffield Wednesday come into this clash with Norwich City having had a trickier start to the season than hoped, but it was still a big surprise that an improved run of form ended with a massive 6-2 defeat to Watford over the weekend.
The Owls are 18th in the Championship table after 13 games and sit just three points above the relegation zone. Off the back of that big weekend defeat, they will be out to produce a response against the Canaries this weekend.
Speaking of Norwich City, find themselves on a four-game winless streak, losing to Cardiff City 2-1 after a run of three straight draws. They were leading 1-0 going into the 89th minute thanks to Borja Sainz’ 11th Championship goal of the season but late goals saw them return to Carrow Road with nothing.
It’s been a largely positive start to the Johannes Hoff Thorup era in Norfolk but performances haven’t always yielded results. Nevertheless, they still sit 10th and only three points off the top six.
Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…
Charlie Hodgson
“This is a very tough game to call for me. With Wednesday you just don’t seem to know what you’re going to get this season. Despite impressing on many occasions they still find themselves close to a relegation battle.
“Norwich City on the other hand have a quality squad, however, they are hampered by injuries at the minute so it is no surprise their form has dropped.
