Frank Lampard has made his position clear amid Coventry City next manager search.
Former England international Frank Lampard is the bookies’ favourite to take over from Mark Robins in the Coventry City hotseat.
Frank Lampard has insisted the rigours of his last two jobs in management haven’t dampened his enthusiasm to become a successful boss.
The Chelsea and England icon, 46, is one of the frontrunners for the vacant post at Coventry City. Coventry owner Doug King decided to sack Mark Robins earlier this week after seven defeats in their opening 14 Championship matches.
Lampard is one of several big name candidates in the running for the post having been out of work for 18 months. The 46-year-old endured two challenging spells in charge of Everton and Chelsea, where he worked as an interim, in the 2022/23 season.

Asked whether his Everton experience and his second stint in the dugout at Stamford Bridge have put him off, Lampard told talkSPORT earlier this year: “No, not at all. You love the job, you understand the rigours of it in the modern day, we see it so much.
“I’ve enjoyed all the clubs I’ve worked with, they’ve all been big challenges obviously for different reasons. I enjoy trying to work with players, improve players, improve teams, so let’s see what comes.”
Lampard was heavily linked with the Burnley job after Vincent Kompany joined Bayern Munich in the summer. Scott Parker eventually landed the Turf Moor gig, leaving Lampard to fill his time with punditry work so far this season.
“Some opportunities have come my way, they didn’t feel right for the time,” said Lampard. “So I’ve kind of taken that decision a bit at times.
“But now I feel ready so we will see what opportunities come up. I’m certainly ready to work. I love doing what I do, so we will see.”
Lampard has had four jobs in management in total. Whilst he struggled for results with Everton and during his second spell at Chelsea, he enjoyed success with Derby County and in his first tenure at Stamford Bridge.
